Books on Wheels Volunteers Needed

Volunteers Needed to Help Distribute Over 40k New Books to Youth in Need
Books on Wheels presented by H-E-B Needs Many Hands to Sort, Distribute and Assist in this Giveaway.

First Book-San Antonio  has issued a call for volunteers needed Friday, May 30, and Saturday, May 31, to assist in a major book giveaway to San Antonio groups serving low-income youth.

Earlier this year, the local First Book-San Antonio advisory board was awarded a truckload of over 40,000 FREE books that will be given away to recipient groups on the last weekend in May.  Volunteers are needed at Books on Wheels presented by H-E-B to help sort and stack the books, as well as assist in the distribution of the books to the program representatives collecting the books for the children they serve.

Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age and be able to work on their feet and lift light loads.  The giveaway will take place at an H-E-B warehouse, so volunteers must be able to work outside.  This opportunity is ideal for church groups, businesses or others who have volunteer hour goals to fulfill.
